Collaboration with Serbia delivers cultivated organic raspberry canes to Dale Farm

Continuing Naturen’s support for Dale Farm (a local organic farm operating as a day service for adults with disabilities and support for adults with mental health needs) we’ve been able to secure a donation of 200 organic raspberry canes, thanks to the generosity of Serbian organic cultivator Zoran Radovanovic and his family.  Zoran’s nursery (pictured, right) is located in the Ivanjica district of Serbia, an area surrounded by mountains and clear fast-flowing rivers, known for its potato and raspberry crops.  Our good friend Voja Zikic kindly helped put us in touch with Zoran and also organised the transportation of the canes.  Dale Farm have received the organic Willamette variety canes and planted them according to Zoran’s strict instructions – “6-10cm in the soil, no deeper”.  Willamette is a ‘summer’ raspberry variety and has a very good dark red colour and high brix (sugar) - delicious!

We love to be able to support Dale Farm and thank our Serbian colleagues for their help in realising this project.
