Latest Crop Report for Organic Raspberries and Strawberries

This year’s organic strawberry crop was lower than expected due to poor weather in Bulgaria during the crop and some plants in Poland were damaged by the extreme heat last year.

Serbia was the first to crop organic raspberries and due to wet weather their harvest has not been as good as expected with a lower proportion of A Grade material compared to last seasons excellent crop.

Poland has just about finished its first flower and so far so good although not much organic is harvested from the early varieties. The second flower which is the main crop will get going soon and early indications are that all seems well in the fields.

Bulgarian early varieties have just about finished but only small quantities are available. The main Heritage/Lyulin crop is about to start and this can continue into October/November dependant on the weather.

The Serbian market has dragged up the pricing of the others over the last few weeks however once the other origins start in earnest and given normal conditions this "should" settle the market a bit.
